Luke Wieland from Stoneyview Jersey Cow Stud near Oakey contacted Von-Katz Soaps a while ago about using his Jersey Cow Milk and crafting it into a Soap so he could sell it and to give his customers something special. Loving a challenge I hopped on board and made up 50 Soaps that were wrapped in the labels created by Natalie Fogarty, the talented Graphic Designer from Vigour Graphics in Highfields.

Jersey Milk is very high in fat, even more so than Goats Milk, and the recipe was adjusted to produce a wonderfully creamy lather while washing hands and body, suitable for even very sensitive skin.

A couple of months ago Luke started messaging me with his enquiry and in the end his lovely wife Tanya dropped off some Jersey Milk for me to work with.

The Soaps were created right here in Highfields by Von-Katz Soaps and Gift Baskets and have been a fantastic collaboration involving 3 Small Businesses, one from the Oakey area and two from Highfields.

Luke and Tanya had a lot of Milk from their carefully bred quality Jersey Cows and adding another product made perfect sense to their family. They wanted a product that represents their passion as Jersey Breeders, is great because it’s natural, uncolored and unscented and therefore great for people with sensitive skin. These values are also important to Von-Katz Soaps and Natalie from Vigour Graphics  who also has a rural background.
