Well locally we have had some lovely rain it has made for a lovely growing season this summer. I know there are many pleased gardeners around the district. As summer slowly comes to an end its important to stay active in the garden and on top of all the weeds as we all know one years seeds equals seven years weeds. Pruning roses should be completed ready for a autumn flush, keep on top of aphids, powdery mildews and black spot. Its a great time to sneak some last minute summer annuals and short summer vegetable crops in, some examples are, Petunias, Portulaca, Alyssum, Impatient and Vinca. Quick veggies are lettuce, mustards, short day corns, spring onions and beans.
